BrewGuide Privacy Policy

Overview

BrewGuide ("the App") is a pour-over coffee brewing companion developed by XAppNova. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data. The short version: we don't collect any of it.

Data Collection

BrewGuide stores all your brewing profiles, taste notes, settings, and preferences locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is not transmitted to any servers
• Is not shared with XAppNova or any third parties
• Remains entirely under your control

Data Storage

All app data is stored locally on your device. Your brewing profiles, custom recipes, and taste notes are protected by:

• Device Security: Protected by your iPhone or iPad's security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
• Local-Only Storage: Data never syncs to external servers
• iCloud Backup: Included in your device's iCloud backup if you have that feature enabled (controlled by your iOS settings)
• Complete Deletion: All data is permanently deleted when you uninstall the app

What Data We Store Locally

The following information is stored on your device only:

• Brewing profiles (name, dripper type, brewing parameters)
• Custom recipe steps and timing
• Taste notes and ratings
• App preferences (temperature unit, weight unit, theme, audio settings)
• App usage statistics for improving performance (never transmitted)

Third-Party Services

BrewGuide does not integrate with:

• Analytics services (no usage tracking)
• Advertising networks (no ads, ever)
• Social media platforms (no account required)
• Cloud sync services (currently; may be added as opt-in feature in future)
• Crash reporting tools (no automatic crash data sent)

Permissions

BrewGuide does not request any special permissions. The app does not access:

• Your location
• Your camera or photos
• Your contacts
• Your microphone
• Your calendar or reminders
• Any other personal information

Internet Connectivity

BrewGuide works completely offline and does not require an internet connection. The app does not make any network requests to:

• Send or receive data
• Check for updates (handled by the App Store)
• Download additional content
• Communicate with external servers

Children's Privacy

BrewGuide does not knowingly collect any data from users of any age, including children under 13. Since we don't collect data at all, there is no data to protect or delete.

Your Rights

Since BrewGuide does not collect or store any personal data on external servers, there is no data for you to request, modify, or delete from our systems. All your data exists solely on your device and is under your complete control.

Data Security

Your brewing data is secured by iOS and your device's built-in security features. We recommend:

• Using a strong device passcode
• Enabling Face ID or Touch ID
• Keeping iOS updated to the latest version
• Enabling iCloud backup if you want to preserve your data when switching devices

Future Changes

If we introduce features that involve data collection (such as optional iCloud sync or profile sharing), we will:

• Update this privacy policy
• Notify you within the app
• Make such features entirely opt-in
• Obtain your explicit consent before enabling them

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
